Abstract :
The mitigation of power quality issues by means of customized power conditioning systems are of growing interest in recent years. The electricity supply is exposed to more frequent power quality problems, especially due to the steadily increasing integration of decentralized power generation, penetration of renewable energy, and deployment of non-linear converter-based loads. Active power filters are used in different type of configurations to attenuate and compensate disturbances and improve supply quality. This paper particularly focuses on power quality in industrial grids. Prominent power conditioner and respective simplified mathematical models are presented. To support and improve the quality of supply a concept of a modular power conditioning system is proposed.
