Abstract :
This paper discusses, how current trends in the area of information, communication and control technologies (ICCT, e.g. Industry 4.0, Cyber-physical systems) are influencing the profile of an educational curriculum in the area of Industrial Automation engineering. The approach implemented by the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer in Germany, introducing a dedicated Master degree, as well as different facilities and students projects, is presented as an example.
