Abstract
The paper presents a simply method for assessing the effectiveness of fast automatic disconnection of supply (electric shock protection) based on measurement of Joule´s integral and thermal equivalent current in 230/400 V electrical installations fed from a synchronous generator sets. Experimental studies are carried out under short-circuit conditions using Electronic Phase Detector and Joule Integral Measurement device utilizing 5.5 kVA salient pole synchronous generator protected by gF and gG class fuses.
