Abstract :
The energy harvesting solution was proposed to prolong the life of a wireless network and meet the requirements of green communications for the future. Relaying networks are proved to improve the performance of wireless communication systems. This paper investigates an amplify-and-forward two- way relaying network over Nakagami-m fading channel, where an energy constrained single-antenna relay node harvests energy with wireless power transfer from both sources. Two bidirectional protocols, multiple access (MA) broadcast protocol and time division (TD) broadcast protocol, are considered. By utilizing the statistical characteristics of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), analytical expressions to determine the throughput both for delay-limited transmission and delay-tolerant transmission are derived. Nu- merical results prove our analysis and show that MA protocol achieves a higher throughput than TD protocol.
