Abstract :
Trade-off between performance and overhead of cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) in cognitive radio Networks (CRNs) still attracts researchers´ attention. In this paper, novel energy efficient strategies are proposed for the centralized CSS systems using hard decision fusion rules. The strategies considerably minimize the number of collaborating cognitive radios (CRs) required for the CSS system, increase the energy efficiency and satisfy the detection requirements. The simulation results shows the optimality of k out of N-Rule over both OR and AND-Rules in terms of energy efficiency and spectrum utilization.
