Abstract :
In this work was evaluated the application of geothermal energy, through the use of a heat exchanger for the air conditioning of a house of social interest with heat pumps. A system of geothermal heat pump is an alternative to be applied in air conditioning systems, due to the high value of the Coeficient Of Performance, both in cooling mode, as heating. The system operates through a vertical geothermal heat exchanger (GHEx), using the subsoil like thermic reservoir by extracting and injecting heat into the ground. The vertical heat exchanger have a minor fluctuations in thermal performance, besides occupying less area for installation. The model developed involves an area of land saturated sand with a value type of high thermal conductivity, the material of the geothermal heat exchanger is high density polyethylene (HDPE) 1" diameter, the arrangement is closed type where working fluid is water-water. The effect caused by the flow of refrigerant in the system was analyzed, for sizing the exchanger (geothermal well depth) to operating temperatures localized at region near the city of Morelia, Michoacan.
