Abstract :
60 GHz is drawing attentions because of higher bandwidth applications, license free spectrum of 59-64 GHz, enhanced security features and greater immunity to interference in wireless communication. However 60 GHz technology comes across significant path losses which increase with the square of frequency. The path losses can be overcome by deployment of directional antennas. In this research work, neighbor exploration techniques are examined and compared when directional antennas are deployed in indoor communication networks. Further, network connectivity requirement is derived in a stochastic way. Simulation environment is established in Matlab. Neighbor exploration techniques are simulated and analyzed by varying the dimensions of home networks, beam width and number of nodes. Network connectivity is analyzed by varying the beam width and number of nodes in an indoor communication network.
