Abstract
Diffuse reflection laser ranging is one of the effective means for space debris surveillance, and the existing laser ranging system always adopted 532nm and 1064nm laser wavelength. By analyzing the influence factors of laser echo photons number, such as laser pulse energy, space debris albedo, atmospheric transmittance and detection efficiency of detector, the benefit of utilizing 1064nm wavelength was presented. Then the simulation experiment was designed to verify the analysis, calculation results showed that under the same conditions, compared with 532nm wavelength laser ranging, 1064nm wavelength laser ranging performances better and has more potential development in future.
