Abstract :
Currently, resource-oriented services are widely used to implement business entities in enterprise information systems thanks to their lightness, scalability and reusability. However, the huge amount of business entities and the continuously changing business requirements bring difficulties to resource-oriented service management especially after the services have been deployed in industry applications. Therefore, a Semantic Entity Model (SEM) is proposed in this paper to address the problem of resource-oriented service management. First, a resource model is introduced to describe resource-oriented services and their complex relations. Second, the resource model is mapped to ontology model, assisting the automatic classification of resource-oriented services. A solution for dynamic model modification is then given for the ever changing requirements on resource-oriented services. The effectiveness of SEM is verified with a real-world use case in manufacturing industry.
