Abstract :
In this paper, theoretical and experimental studies of magnet fatigue in hybrid PM memory motors are presented. A specific hybrid PM memory motor is used as the prototype, and an experimental device is designed, which simulates the magnetic field environments around the PM materials in the memory motor. Working conditions and magnet fatigue of PM materials are then analyzed according to the experiment results. The results show that very weak magnet fatigue is observed in the ferrite magnets. In general, the performance of the PM materials is stable. In a worst-case scenario, when the hybrid PM memory motors work on a condition of continual speed regulation, the magnetic field regulation capability may slightly go worse.
