            Abstract : 
In this paper, we present a novel miniaturized microstrip patch antenna based on metamaterial unit. This antenna works at 9.68 GHz and is linear polarized. The numerical results show that impedance bandwidth (S11<;-10 dB) is about 122 MHz and the gain is 4.97 dB. Moreover, the patch size is a quarter of wavelength in medium.
