Abstract :
This article shows the development and implementation of a device which is capable of monitoring peripheral oxygen saturation in the blood (SpO2) and heart rate of a person in beats per minute (bpm). This can be achieved by conditioning the signal obtained from the sensor Nellcor DS-100A, including a step of converting the current signal to voltage, a step of noise Altering in the signal and finally a stage of signal amplification. It also includes the sensor´s internal LED control in order to apply the Beer and Lambart concepts on the absorption of light by tissue. The conditioned sensor signal enters the IOIO board, which is exclusive for mobile devices with Android operating system, or processing the signal that enters the card using Java programming language. Finally, it presents the test results in healthy and sick people, comparing the obtained values with a commercial device.
