Abstract
Service composition is an effective means of building profit-added service in service-oriented computing environment. Most of current research neglects characteristics of domain business as well as successful domain experiences, so optimization performance can´t be further improved in specific service context. Firstly, the concept of service pattern is proposed to describe common processes in domain business. Both service patterns and related advantageous services are pre-computed and organized, so that they can be reused in optimization. Then a service pattern-based service composition approach (SP-SCA) is presented, whose objective is to obtain a maximal profit service solution quickly. The SP-SCA employs the coverage ratio, redundancy ratio and unit effective cost to measure the performance of service pattern. The approach adopts a two-stage optimization strategy: service pattern-based stage and atomic service-based stage. In the service pattern-based stage, SP-SCA follows the greedy principle "priority to minimal unit effective cost" to quickly obtain optimal service solution. Experimental results show the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed approach.
