Abstract :
In this work, a laboratory-scale electrical impedance tomography imaging System was designed and implemented. These instrument consists of an imaging phantom with 16 electrodes, a precision electric current source, a data acquisition and switch-matrix module, and EIDORS®, an open-source image reconstruction software. The data acquisition and the switching matrix are implemented using STM-32F4 microntroller-board and CMOS based CD4047 multiplexer ICs, respectively. The conducted experiments show that this preliminary prototype is capable of detecting medium inhomogeneity near the periphery of the phantom. The developed system also enables various signal to be stored and analyzed for education and research purposes.
