  • Abstract
We design and develop an intelligent remote air conditioning control system for building based on a Wireless Sensor/Actuator Network (WSN) that automatically adjusts to the comfort level of the room occupants. The system connectivity is based on ZigBee technology to do away with the conventional wiring and intrusive installation. The architecture is designed with the scalability and flexibility in mind by employing message oriented middleware. Consequently, all the components are decoupled from each other such that it is easy for any future adjustment, whether it is to replace, to remove, or to add components. Finally, we set up a testbed and the experiment results show that the system responds to the user´s commands with little to almost no delay and with satisfactory performance.
