Abstract
Generally, Around View Monitoring (AVM) system is consisted of four cameras and each camera image is stitched into a single image. AVM system is used in lane detection or object detection like pedestrian detection. To avoid the inconsistent performance due to deviations of camera installation, the camera should be installed and calibrated at the first time. After then, if the image is inconsistent due to camera angle deviation, the camera must be recalibrated. This paper presents an auto-image calibration for the AVM system. If the angle change is small, this method can calibrate the angle of the image viewpoint instead of re-installing the camera position. For front camera x-axis angle shift calibration, we use vanishing point and features of the vehicle body where the camera is installed.
