Abstract
In digital substation, the electronic transformer has replaced the traditional electromagnetic transformer. The data transmission process of the electronic transformer consists of A/D conversion and the merge unit framing process. Quantization error will be produced in the two processes, and this may reduce the data accuracy. This paper analyzed the quantization error produced in the entire data transmission process of the electronic transformer merging unit, calculated the values of the quantization error in each part, in order to make that the size and impact of the quantization error can be understood more accurately and more objectively. Through analysis and calculation, this paper drew a conclusion that the quantization error is so small that it can be ignored. In order to verify this conclusion, this paper used Mat lab to do the simulation and verification.
