Abstract :
It has been sufficiently verified that impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) is one of the great effective techniques to prevent the corrosion of a reinforced concrete (RC) structure. In this study, the 3-D numerical model of an ICCP system was built based on finite element method (FEM), then the potential of the concrete and the reinforced bars is obtained. According to the protection potential criterion, when the impressed voltage is 2.5V, the reinforced bars are completely protected under the paving scheme of the anode presented by this paper. Moreover, the prototype of an ICCP system about a T-beam is built to verify the numerical simulation results.
