Nonintrusive Insulator Leakage Current Monitoring System Based on Fiber Optic Transmission

The research in the field of Leakage current is an important technology of the power transmission line. It is necessary to monitor the operation state for the security of the transmission project. This paper proposes a non-intrusive leakage current sensor and develops an online insulator leakage current monitoring system based on optical fiber transmission. The system is verified by laboratory and field tests. The test results demonstrate that the monitoring system can measure the leakage current under the dc UHV environment. More research will be done by using this monitoring system in future.
