Abstract :
In this paper, study on computational complexity is implemented in a bidirectional 60GHz radio over fiber (RoF) system with 5Gb/s 16QAM-OFDM downstream signals generated by selected mapping (SLM) technique. 5Gb/s 16QAM-OFDM signals are transmitted over one 42km SMF-28 and one 0.4m wireless channel. The computational complexity comparison of different schemes with various number of branches is accomplished. The experimental results demonstrate that SLM can reduce high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) influence. Moreover, the high frequency microwave source is not required at the center station (CS), and the local oscillator (LO) is not also adopted at the base station (BS), that can simplify system configuration.
