Abstract :
Image enhancement is a key technology in digital image processing. In this paper, a novel algorithm based on Laplacian pyramid transformation is proposed for enhancing hue invariability of color images. On the premise of hue invariability, the N-level Laplacian pyramid transform on saturation component of HIS space is performed to improve the saturation. Contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization algorithm is used to enhance details of intensity component. The bilinear median-Gaussian filter is used to deal with the images with all kinds of noise. Experiments show that the details of image can be reserved as much as possible at the time of denoising. Combined with hue invariability enhancement algorithm based on Laplacian pyramid transformation, a good denoising and enhancement effect is obtained and it is helpful to the further image understanding and analysis.
