Abstract
After a short review, several measurement techniques are considered. The "Y factor" method is described in detail. After a mathematical description, for the given measurement setup using a spectrum analyzer, has been derived, a computer program for the automatic calibration and measurement was written. The measurement results are compared with those obtained by using noise figure meter HP 8970B, and has been found to be in very good agreement.
