Abstract
A new isolated bidirectional full bridge buck-boost converter with non dissipative clamping circuit provides high conversion ratio in the boost mode, maximum power output, and soft switching capability at both buck and boost conversion is described in this paper. The proposed topology with LCD clamp has none of the drawbacks available with other bidirectional converters comprises of complex snubber circuits, current and voltage stresses in the switches during switching conversion. The use of LCD clamp clamping branch capacitor and diode can reduce the voltage spike occurs due to current mismatch between the current-fed side inductance and primary winding leakage inductance of the isolation transformer. Operational modes of the proposed converter is described with of 48 V as input and output voltage of 433 V for boost conversion and vice versa for buck conversion has been simulated and modeled using MATLAB/ Simulink software and the results are compared with other classical bidirectional full bridge dc-dc converter.
