Semi off-grid as the new mode of operation of prosumer owned microgrids

The paper introduces properties of prosumer microgrid working in new type of mode of operation - semi off-grid. This configuration allows increasing self consumption of renewable energy giving better economical effect when feed in tariff program is not available or is less profitable. The power stage configuration of power electronic interface as well as hierarchical control of proposed solution has been described and compared with other solution presently available on the market and having similar functionality. The paper also contains the simulation results of proposed solution in selected cases of power variations inside the microgrid.
