Abstract :
Thin film transistor backplanes are the key enabler of flat panel displays and digital x-ray detectors. As the technology continues to mature, new applications and improved performance require technology developments, including flexible substrates, high performance pixel electronics and reduced manufacturing cost. Recent progress is described in three alternative technologies to meet the new requirements.
