Abstract :
We report an ultraflexible microbubble blood pressure sensor (μBBPS), which employs a trapped micro-bubble in blood for pressure transduction. The all-parylene-C (PA-C) structured μBBPS has a total thickness of 8μm and a micro chamber size of 140μm ×500μm× 18μm. Microbubble for transduction is the first time generated spontaneously by capillary forces. Real-time hydrostatic pressure measurement (-181Ω/ mmHg, ±2mmHg) of 1X PBS and (-267Ω/ mmHg, ±3mmHg) of rat blood is demonstrated over 0-200mmHg. The μBBPS is extremely flexible and conform that can work well when it is wrapped on an acupuncture needle (380μm diameter).
