Abstract :
The linear relation between ΔH and ΔS (the compensation law) has been verified for relaxations in several polymers. The predicted free energy has discontinuities corresponding to actual relaxation peaks. While it is more correct to deduce ΔH and ΔS from a log (υ/T) vs 1/T plot rather than from a log υ vs 1/T plot, in no way this gives the real activated values because ΔG* is usually neglected.
