Abstract :
An electronic tunable composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) leaky-wave antenna (LWA) with horizontal scanning properties based on liquid crystal is presented. The advantages of the proposed antenna are: 1) Convenient to fabricate; 2) Scanning range from negative angle to positive angle; 3) Scanning in a horizontal plane; 4) Convenient to constitute an array. The transmission and radiation characteristics of the CRLH LWA are theoretically analyzed and simulated.
