Abstract :
Antenna factor values provided by the manufacturer are typically determined based on the assumption that the antenna is used in the far field of the source. However, in some measurement situations the antennas are placed in the near field. In this work, a method of moments software code is used to simulate the antenna factor of a broadband dipole antenna for both far-field and near-field cases. Results are provided comparing the far-field simulation with the antenna factor values supplied by the manufacturer. In addition, an error correction factor was determined for the near-field case
