Abstract :
An enhanced approach for colour target recognition for still imagery and video is demonstrated in this paper. The proposed model successfully deals with object detection in clutter and distorted environment by using combination of three different techniques - Quaternion correlation, Logarithm mapping and EMACH. Quaternion correlation technique is used to measure colour similarity. Logarithm mapping efficiently provides the constant response in reaction to scale and rotation changes. A quaternion based method needs to be devised to integrate intensity information of three channels by EMACH. By virtue of combining these three novel techniques we can define fully invariant filter. The experimental results, reported herein, show its resilience for practical utilization in the real world scenarios involving distorted environments.
