Abstract :
In this letter, a novel single split-ring resonator (SRR), which is etched on the back side of a coplanar waveguide (CPW), is presented and discussed. Metallic vias are used to connect the single SRR to ground planes, which greatly improve the performance of the structure. A stop band filter based on this novel structure is simulated and fabricated. Simulated and measured results are in good agreement. The proposed filter has the advantages of high level of compactness and well frequency selectivity.
