Abstract :
In this paper a novel compact wearable dual-band antenna that operates at 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz wireless communication frequency bands is designed. The antenna is realized with a circular patch printed on a thin flexible Liquid Crystalline Polymer (LCP) substrate. A square metasurface element with square ring is developed and a 3×3 array is designed for the antenna miniaturization application. By combining these two structures, a novel dual-band wearable antenna is realized. The simulated results show that the relative bandwidths of -10dB reflection coefficient for the lower and higher frequency bands are about 11.8% and 6%, respectively.
