  • Abstract
Recently researchers found that digital data can be encoded and decoded by different OAM modes. A novel digital data transmission method using orbital angular momentum (OAM) of electromagnetic (EM) fields is proposed in this paper. Firstly, we propose a tolerable encoding method using OAM mode, which is generated by the uniform circular array (UCA). Then, if the beam axis is known, a dual-polarized antenna can be used to measure two electric field components and detect the OAM mode by the approximation method. Finally, the bit-error-rate (BER) against signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the proposed method is analyzed.
