  • Abstract
    Data coding transfer is one of the major problems encountered in many digital communication systems. A new hardware implementation of the Viterbi decoder is realized using CMOS digital circuits. This new design has several advantages over previous implementations. It results in less power dissipation, small area and higher frequency. Furthermore, unlike previous implementations the proposed system has an internal control unit and has a new design for built in memory unit, which uses management technique dependent on trace back method
