Abstract :
A novel fractal Two-Dimensional electromagnetic bandgap(EBG) Structure is proposed. The fractal EBG is obtained by digging triangles of different sizes. The number of fractal order affects the operating frequency and bandwidth of the EBG structure. Transmission characteristics of the structure is validated by the suspengding microstrip method (SMM). The simulation results show that the proposed EBG structure has broader bandwidth and lower profile than that of conventional EBG structure.
