Abstract :
A millimeter-wave traveling-wave power divider/combiner using dual-probe waveguide-to-microstrip (Wg-Ms) coupling structure is proposed and applied to the design of a broadband power-combined amplifier. The novel traveling-wave dual-probe structure employed in this design has the advantages of broad bandwidth, high combining efficiency, and good heat sinking. In the frequency range of 30-40GHz, the measured insertion loss of the power divider/combiner is less than 0.6dB and the output power at 1-dB gain compression (P-1dB) from the power-combined amplifier is higher than 30dBm. The obtained power combining efficiency is from 78% to 87%.
