Abstract :
A planar 4×12 slot array antenna is designed with a cosecant squared pattern for millimeter-wave communication system in this paper. The array antenna is operated with a 10dB return loss bandwidth of 42-43GHz. Twelve element antennas are arrayed in E-plane and the feeding distribution is optimized to synthesize the cosecant squared pattern. The measured cosecant squared region covers up to 40 degree with a maximum gain of 17.7dB, and the measured side lobe is lower than -16.5dB.
