Abstract :
This paper presents a microstrip-line fed implanted antenna operating in medical implant communications service (MICS) band (402-405 MHz) and ISM band (433.05-434.79 MHz). By varying the type of the ground plane, the proposed medical implantable antenna which is planned to be inserted in the skin is successfully realized. Good agreement is obtained between simulation and measurement for the relative bandwidth. The simulated and measured impedance bandwidths of proposed antenna are 138.75 and 146.25 MHz at return loss of 10 dB, respectively. The proposed implanted antenna in skin has peak gain of -13.8/-12.6 dBi and a radiation efficiency of 45%/32% at 403 MHz/434 MHz.
