Abstract :
In order to reducing the interference. A novel electric field probe utilizing integrated optical waveguide is designed for pyramidal horn antenna in this letter. The new optical probe detects the E-filed vector in the pyramidal horn and converts the field into light signal. Compared with the traditional probe, this design has the advantages of less interference on E-field, low transmission loss (0.2dB/km) and high immunity to electromagnetic interference. The principle and fabrication process of the optical probe are given. Experimental results show that the probe is very suitable for applying in pyramidal horn antenna.
