Abstract :
A novel bi-isotropic chiral metamaterial is proposed. The chiral metamaterial is composed of tightly coupled helical meta-atoms and is advantageous in realizing large chirality and easy control of isotropy and homogeneity as well as low fabrication cost. A chiral metamaterial is designed at 10.48 GHz and its performance are experimentally investigated. The rotation angle of polarization direction as large as 70.2 deg has been achieved by the prototype with the thickness of 0.033 λ0.
