Abstract :
In the microwave wireless power transmission (MWPT), the space transmission efficiency (STE) is a key factor in its overall transmission efficiency, but available evaluation methods such as the Friis formula and Goubau method are not accurate in practical cases. For the above reasons, this paper firstly studies the numerical calculation of the STE based on the transmitting antenna´s three-dimensional (3D) radiation patterns. By taking two antennas, i.e. a parabolic antenna and a microstrip array antenna as sample transmitting antennas, the STE is calculated under Friis formula, Goubau method and proposed numerical calculation method, finally the results based on above three methods are compared and analyzed.
