Abstract :
The evolving business environment within UK-based manufacturing is requiring firms to take new perspectives on how they meet corporate goals. This paper reports on a six-month pilot research project in which one of the goals was to identify requirements for the deployment of a product data management (PDM) system in an engineering organisation. The company wished to implement PDM in such a way that it would contribute to the achievement of its business strategy
