Abstract :
The research and the analysis in this paper about EDI is far from complete. By identifying the two limitations in the current EDI research, the author takes on the supplier´s point of view and used theoretical models to study the impacts of EDI. The approach is based on several simple ideas from some empirical and case studies. Results indicate that EDI adoption brings the supplier profit increment, and the supplier is motivated to adopt many EDI systems when possible. Restricted by EDI adoption costs, the profit increment received by the supplier, however, decreases as more and more EDI systems are being adopted. Therefore, the supplier has to make proper strategic decisions in whose EDI systems to adopt and how many EDI systems it should adopt
