Abstract
In recent years, much research has been focused on the delivery of secret data in communications networks. Steganography is commonly used to ensure the successful delivery of encrypted secret data, while histogram data shifting is often implemented to enable reversible data hiding. This paper describes a proposed method that focuses on improving embedding payload. The proposed method utilizes multi-pattern and pixel overlapping strategies to increase the height of the peak point in the difference histogram. Based on the experiment results, the proposed method provides improved payload performance as compared to Li et al.´s and Chou et al.´s methods. In addition, the proposed method is capable of generating stego images with a visual quality of 33 dB or greater.
