Abstract :
Femtocells have gained a lot of attention recently due to their advantages in terms of infrastructure cost saving and improved use rexperience in indoor environments. Several standards bodies, such as 3GPP, worldwide interpretability for microwave access (WiMAX) Forum, and IEEE802.16, have started to develop standard solutions to enable and optimize Femtocells operation. In this paper, a multi-level schedule (MLS) scheme is proposed. It classifies arrival data packets based on their types and priorities to reduce starvation of non-real time service flows. A simulation model is implemented using matlab/simulink toolbox in order to evaluate the performance of MLS. The results show that the proposed scheme improves the Femtocells WiMAX system in terms of bandwidth allocation, throughput and packet delay.
