Abstract :
A tunable DBR laser with a transparent thin-film heater above the DBR grating was fabricated. Single-mode lasing with an output power of ~50 m W and a side-mode suppression ratio of 25 dB was obtained. A wide tuning range of 5.2 nm was achieved by heating the DBR grating with a 160 mW heater power.
