Abstract :
In this work, we synthesized and characterized homo- and copolymer of poly(9,9-di-n-dihexylfluorene (P1) and poly[(9,9-di-n-dihexylfluorene)-co-(N-hexylcarbarzole)] (P2), respectively, by using Suzuki-Miyaura reaction from 2,7-dibromo-9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluorene (M1) and 3,6-dibromo-9-hexylcarbazol (M2) monomers. The photophysics of polymers were studied by UV-Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy. The polymers emit in the blue region at 530-500 nm. The polymers showed a high thermal stability with the decomposition temperature (Td) of 400 oC. The synthesized polymers were used as the emitters in polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs); ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Polymer/Ca/Al. We found that the blue PLEDs were obtained with the CIE coordinates (0.20, 0.21) and (0.20, 0.19). Moreover, we studied the co-emitting devices with an iridium complex (KM01). The results suggested that the device show a white PLEDs with CIE (0.28, 0.28) and (0.24, 0.22) respectively.
