Abstract :
The operating model is a structural approach of the Enterprise Architecture developed and published in 2006 by Ross & Weill (MIT), and Robertson (IMD) authors. Many international companies have been based on this concept to improve their business models. The main idea of this concept is to identify first the type of process models that the company has, which, according to Ross et al, are basically four, diversification, coordination, replication, and unification. Each operating model determines a different degree of standardization, and integration needed in the processes to achieve a redesign of the business models which fulfill a high standard of operational efficiency in the business processes. However, the approach of Ross et al leaves open the way in which the operational model is implemented. In a real project of the Banco Estado in Ecuador this approach is reflected and integrated with the implementation concepts of BPM proposed by Hitpass (2012). These concepts are summarized in this paper, and they describe as a real case study the implementation of the social housing credit process (VIS) in the Banco del Estado of Ecuador, supported by these two concepts. Finally, the paper assesses and describes the conclusions on the approach of the integration of both concepts.
