Abstract :
High-tech companies encounter great challenges to transfer their complex technologies to developing and emerging markets, particularly due to shorter life cycle and complexity of technology, low technology absorption capacity of the technology recipient and underdeveloped technology infrastructure of developing countries and emerging economies. The recent development of information technologies (ITs), such as increasing storage capacities and training capabilities of IT tools; rapid penetration of the Internet to developing countries and emerging economies may assist high-tech companies in reducing the difficulties in their technology transfer efforts. By utilizing the diffusion of innovation theory and a multiple case study method, this study introduces a framework for complex technology transfer of high-tech companies
