Data warehouse on Hadoop platform for decision support systems in education

Today, the term Big Data is already widely distributed in many areas, and one of the efficient tools to handle this amount of data is a young, but rapidly growing data warehousing technology. This article reviews general data warehousing understanding and its areas of usage and application in order to understand and implement data integration solutions. Traditional design and concept model of data warehouse is explained. In addition we will overview of data warehouse organization and data extraction to Hadoop architecture which has long been associated with the concept of Big Data and allows distributed processing of it on clusters of commodity hardware.
